May 12, 2020 · I have a 2016 Cruze 1.4L 2nd Gen LE2 Motor. 6-Speed Manual. It has 61,000 miles and I have the P1101 DTC on it with the check engine light. I cleaned the MAF Sensor and cleared the code and a couple days later the code came right back. New MAF Sensor is $100. I don’t want to buy a part that isn’t needed. Updated 9-1-2021: Cleaned throttle body, cleaned Mass Airflow Sensor, checked for vacuum leaks still throws code P1101. Changed intake gasket (had reinstalled same gasket as took off, 2nd intake that's been on it. Cleaned throttle body some more while intake was off. Still code P1101. TPS at idle warm is at 1%, that is a huge red flag. I dont think the tps is bad, I believe that false air is entering somewhere. Maf sensor warm idle 2000 hz….pass and at 2500 rpm no load its 2200 hz….also a pass. If I remember correctly that was about 3.25 grams per sec at idle…every time i've seen this code set on a gen2 cruze it has been caused by an improperly installed or deformed air filter. there is an alignment bracket type thing in the air filter, if it isn't aligned properly or warped it will cause this code to set.
